Control Group
Advancing Veteran-Focused Research

Are you a U.S. veteran based in the Denver, Colorado area with PTSD or a traumatic brain injury interested in contributing to research that could shape how the VA approaches recovery?

The control group will consist of 10 U.S. veterans who meet the same eligibility criteria as intervention participants but will not engage in skiing or snowboarding during the study period. These individuals will serve as a non-intervention comparison group to help isolate the effects of the mountain sports experience.

Control participants will complete the same baseline and follow-up assessments as the intervention cohort, including neurophysiological scanning conducted in Denver, ensuring consistency in data collection and outcome measurement. In recognition of their time and contribution to the research, each control group participant will receive a $200 gift card.

Their participation is essential for establishing comparative benchmarks and strengthening the scientific validity of the study’s findings.
